Important:

  • "Autohide" isn't limited to full screen! (FAQ Q6)
  • "Autohide" will NOT add full screen support!
  • Your browser MUST support full screen!

After install make your settings:

  • Tools => Add-ons => Extensions => Autohide => Options

FAQ:

  • Q1: When will this extension be listed on addons.mozilla.org?
  • A: Never.
  • Q2: Can you add an option to hide scrollbars?
  • A: No.
  • Q3: Why is it not possible to auto hide the sidebar?
  • A: I don't use the sidebar.
  • Q4: Autohide sucks with the 'Make Everything Ugly' theme!
  • A: I'm testing only with the default theme.
  • Q5: How do I change the hidden settings?
  • A: Wrong question.
  • Q6: "Zombie Mode"? What?
  • A: Use Shift and F11 or right-click the toolbarbutton...
  • A: "Zombie Mode" is only available for Windows and Linux!
  • Q7: Will you ever answer to emails?
  • A: Yes! If I have the time and the questions are not about Q1 - Q6.

Hidden Settings


Start Browser in full screen mode:

  • Use "-fullscreen" as command line option
  • for specific site: -URL "http://www.google.com" -fullscreen
  • Or shutdown while in full screen mode

Adjust menu delay (ms):

  • user_pref("extensions.autohide.delay", 50)
  • default is 50

Adjust menu hide delay (ms):

  • user_pref("extensions.autohide.hideDelay", 5)
  • default is 5

Increase the mouse sensitive area:

  • user_pref("extensions.autohide.senseArea", 2)
  • default is 0

Keep the look (size, text etc.) of toolbar buttons:

  • user_pref("extensions.autohide.keepButtons", true)
  • default is false

Disable "floating toolbars":

  • user_pref("extensions.autohide.noFloat", true)
  • default is false
  • "Floating toolbars" only available for Windows and Linux!

Set "Zombie Mode" as default:

  • user_pref("extensions.autohide.zombieMode", true)
  • default is false
  • "Zombie Mode" only available for Windows and Linux!

Appearance of "Zombie Mode":

  • user_pref("extensions.autohide.zombieBorder", 2)
  • 0 -> nothing
  • 1 -> border
  • 2 -> border and title
  • default is 2

Move "Zombie-Window":

  • user_pref("extensions.autohide.zombieMove", true)
  • (Available only with 'zombieBorder' < 2)
  • default is 'false'
  • Shift has to be pressed while moving the mouse!
